Description
Zelma's Tears is a story of a typical rural family of the 1950's and 60's, of one young man's search for comfort and fulfillment through alcohol, and his road to recovery. Tragedy strikes, tempting him to return to the bottle to cope. But with the encouragement and help of friends and the strength gained through faith in the Lord, he overcomes the urge to drink, even though he continues to grieve. Jim graduated Northwest High School, McDermott, Ohio as valedictorian in 1969. He attended Shawnee State University in Portsmouth, Ohio, acquiring an Associate Degree in Sociology, with a minor in Psychology. He currently lives on Duck Run Road, Lucasville, Ohio with his wife Mary Lee. They have three children, all who are registered nurses, as well as six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He celebrates 27 years of sobriety and is a member of Gideons International.
