Description

Writing this collection of memories was a nostalgic journey for me, even though not all of those memories were sunshine, I still enjoyed the trip. The saying goes: "You can take a man out of his country, but you can't take the country out of the man." Not only is Barbados the place I was born, it's still my happy place, a place I go to often. When I do, I am lying on a beautiful beach listening to the sound of the waves, and feeling the warmth of the sun as the trade winds caress my body. It made me think of what Kahill Gibran said about the wind, "We hear you, but we cannot see you. We feel your touch, but we cannot descry your shape. You are like an ocean of love that engulfs our spirits, but does not drown them." Home is where your heart is, heaven is my eternal home, Barbados is my earthly home. A blessed beautiful Island in the sun."
