Description
KUNDU; Prince of Riverton City is set on the island of Jamaica of the early 1980s, Kundu, an adolescent boy and his two best friends (Lorraine and Leon) struggle to live life within the island's mind-numbing poverty, where scavenging the local dump for daily sustenance is the difference between eating and starvation, living or dying.
In an atmosphere of incessant turf wars, classism, political skirmishes, colonialism, incest, and gang violence, Kundu is forced to make adult decisions too early in his teen life; in the process he will lose friends, family, and some of his own dreams.
