He was an astronomer and professor of astronomy at Ohio State University and, later, chairman of the astronomy department at Northwestern University in Chicago. He is widely considered the father of the concept of scientific analysis both of reports and especially of trace evidence purportedly left by UFOs. His books include \u003ci\u003eThe UFO Experience\u003c\/i\u003e and \u003ci\u003eThe Hynek UFO Report\u003c\/i\u003e. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cb\u003eDr. Jacques Vallee\u003c\/b\u003e has long been regarded as the most respected and senior scientific investigator of unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP). In 1962, he began working as an astronomer at the University of Texas at Austin, where he codeveloped the first computer-based detailed map of Mars for NASA. He went on to work for Hynek and Project Blue Book to create the first interactive computer database of UFO observations.
