She began teaching Bible Band and Sunday school only 3-months after receiving Christ in her life. \u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003e In 1964, Ozell's husband, Elder A. D. Cooper, founded the Greater Antioch Church of God in Christ, in San Diego, California. There, she was the president of the women's department and held several other positions advocating for children and literacy programs. She is currently on the State Examining board and is State Chaplain in the Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Churches of God in Christ under the leadership of Prelate Bishop George D.
